TheDhali: In this graphic I’ve thrown two instances of the same waveform in a before after sequence. Notice where I edit the start point to be directly at the front of the transient. Scalpel!
Edit visually by zooming in on your waveforms using the zoom button located to your bottom left of the window. (Also posted with this figure.)
Move the cue point with your mouse to the desired location and monitor the sampled wave, edit as necessary in your mix.
TheDhali: I know Maschine is supposed to be this “never have to look at software” and “never look at screen” but it will do you ++ to your music creation to know your software like your favorite pair of jeans. I personally am much faster manipulating my software with hotkeys and mouse and using the Maschine controller for more “creative control”. I don’t believe one should try to work Maschine with just its controller. Never limit your controls. Add more. & Macro
In 1.5 NI introduced the ability to zoom on the controller, if that’s faster for you, please do what works in your instance, this is the same thing you will see on your screen as you edit from your controller.
NI Maschine is now in version 1.6
Take care and keep developing your practice.
TheDhali: Maintain a clean system by learning to tweak the operating system.. In this figure my system is under 350mb of RAM. OS: Windows XP 32bit Professional - running Chrome. The browser is resting at google.com (I chose XP because its in my opinion the leanest of the windows OS’. You’ll notice quick response once you’ve prepared your OS for doing the work you are going to perform.
Get to this screen the “Task Manager” by hitting - Control + Alt + Delete simultaneously.
!: There are only 4 Processes running that are extra on top of an XP Install.
Keep everything very minimal on your start up by:
START > RUN.
Type: “MSConfig” ENTER
Sift Through your tabs and observe your settings here. Careful when changing things but be confident and edit your start up processes and programs. Keep it LEAN. It will respond very well.
In the Photo above..You will notice that nothing is sucking any power from my 4 CPU’s they are basically just having coffee right now. The meter reads 1%. Ah.. What do I want to do. Computer. *deeor. Take over world.
This is a good dashboard to monitor your PC if you have any concerns about it running slow, you can see what its up to at that very moment. See which program is demanding the most resources and kill whatever it is that is robbing you of that power you need to DO WORK.

Thought I'd get that out of the way haha, I was really impressed by all of the technical information on your blog. I just started a project where I'm basically trying to become a DJ on Tumblr, and I need some knowledgeable followers to make it work, so if that sounds at all interesting, feel free to follow!
Hmm I’m glad to be of service if it helps your journey to your own greatness. I’m happy I can give motivation? I’m sorry that I haven’t posted in a while, but things have no doubt been on the Pro G tip. I’ve been incubating in my studio box and helping others get theirs going. Working with a few artists selling their artwork on the web and such. As well as turning over my equipment and purchasing KORG pieces to play with. I’ll see if I can’t contribute more to the cause. I’m just an observer and I feel like it would be a good thing to network with the like minded. Thanks for the message sir.

TheDhali: Good evening to those reading and looking to up their skills with graphic design.
This will serve as a quick start up pilot and link base to help you improve your skills with your graphics and also give you the ability to export your work once you are finished for professional processing.
RASTER:
The raster image (aka bitmap) is your everyday point and shoot picture. Its made up of a resolution such as 800 x 600 which means they set 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels high. A pixel is simply a square and it has a value of color. Together they all make up the image you see. These files are saved with extensions .jpg .png .gif .bmp etc.
TheDhali: You know the Dhali comes through with the Open-Source tools.. Behold… My choice tools in image editing.Gimpshop 2.2.11
If you feel at home in Photoshop, but need an open source alternative - Gimpshop is the way to go. Gimpshop is a hack made on top of the original Gimp project which changes all menues, dialogs, etc.
VECTOR:
These types of images are usually saved as the standard .eps (encapsulated post script). This type of image takes coordinates on an x & y axis and then plots out the vectors along those guidelines. You may then change the color of the shapes you create out of the lines.
This format is usually requested when professional work is to be done.
Screen printing on shirts, logos for print, etc need the lines from vector art in order to reproduce the same drawing to any scale.
Note: In raster images the images are set when they are created. You may only reduce a raster image and keep its sharpness. When you try to blow up a picture it degrades. The original must be the highest quality possible. Soo. Vector graphics are the standard for any sign making, flash animations, shirt productions, unless they are going to press on some type of printed material. etc.
Inkscape 0.46
Inkscape is an open source 2d vector graphics editor. Supports all of the standard drawing features your will find in similar commercial product. Curves (bezier), lines, freehand drawing etc.
So.. Say you wanted to draw a picture.. And have it screen printed onto a shirt.
We need to produce. Camera ready art.
This is artwork that is provided by you and is “ready” to use.
TheDhali:
The fabricator, takes your logo or artwork and produces a “negative”.
Then they place that into a light box with the negative over a screen.
The screen is coated with a uv sensitive mixure that will harden when the uv light hits it.
The negative which is made of clear celephane and printed on with black to block the light completely.
Sometimes screen printers will create vinyl decal recreations onto the celephane to get extremely clean lines. Printing onto it could leave dropplets of ink that will show when screen printing.
SO.
Your first step is to bring your artwork into the computer.
Scan in at high dpi resolution. Usually for print 300dpi is best.
After we have a good raster image scanned in.
We have to convert this bitmap image to vector format.
AutoTrace: http://autotrace.sourceforge.net/
Also note: Now days Illustrator has a “livetrace” feature builtin. Which was introduced in version CS2 I believe. Depending on what version you get, you’ll want to look that up and research techniques on getting the best livetrace of your image you can.
Once you have the image close to where you like it you can take it into your drawing program (vector) and edit the points of the curves to make it finer. The bezier curve tool is most likely what you will be using. Perfection is attainable.
When you have worked on all the points and everything is PERFECT.
You are ready to export the file for professional use.
Doing this before you go to get signage done, or banners printed will save you the set up fee, which is usually about 65+ dollars depending on what you give to the company to print. If you show up with a poloroid of your work, expect a hefty price tag on the setup fees. If you come with an .EPS file of your drawing, it can be made into ANYTHING. It is ready and standardized for production.
Pro G!

Shout out to those of you who get the pleasure of playing with real instruments.
Unfortunately I don’t have the funds nor the space to house a lovely grand piano.
I Noticed this:
Studiologic SL-990XP 88-Note Weighted MIDI Controller
Very Lovely. =) You get the feel of the real weighted keys and the ability to work that digitally in your mix on your DAW. Not a bad price if this is how you like it. Control your favorite plug ins and virtual instruments with a velocity sensitive midi controller.
Cheapest one I’ve found, if you find nicer let me know.
