TheDhali: In this graphic I’ve thrown two instances of the same waveform in a before after sequence. Notice where I edit the start point to be directly at the front of the transient. Scalpel!
Edit visually by zooming in on your waveforms using the zoom button located to your bottom left of the window. (Also posted with this figure.)
Move the cue point with your mouse to the desired location and monitor the sampled wave, edit as necessary in your mix.
TheDhali: I know Maschine is supposed to be this “never have to look at software” and “never look at screen” but it will do you ++ to your music creation to know your software like your favorite pair of jeans. I personally am much faster manipulating my software with hotkeys and mouse and using the Maschine controller for more “creative control”. I don’t believe one should try to work Maschine with just its controller. Never limit your controls. Add more. & Macro
In 1.5 NI introduced the ability to zoom on the controller, if that’s faster for you, please do what works in your instance, this is the same thing you will see on your screen as you edit from your controller.
NI Maschine is now in version 1.6
Take care and keep developing your practice.
TheDhali: Maintain a clean system by learning to tweak the operating system.. In this figure my system is under 350mb of RAM. OS: Windows XP 32bit Professional - running Chrome. The browser is resting at google.com (I chose XP because its in my opinion the leanest of the windows OS’. You’ll notice quick response once you’ve prepared your OS for doing the work you are going to perform.
Get to this screen the “Task Manager” by hitting - Control + Alt + Delete simultaneously.
!: There are only 4 Processes running that are extra on top of an XP Install.
Keep everything very minimal on your start up by:
START > RUN.
Type: “MSConfig” ENTER
Sift Through your tabs and observe your settings here. Careful when changing things but be confident and edit your start up processes and programs. Keep it LEAN. It will respond very well.
In the Photo above..You will notice that nothing is sucking any power from my 4 CPU’s they are basically just having coffee right now. The meter reads 1%. Ah.. What do I want to do. Computer. *deeor. Take over world.
This is a good dashboard to monitor your PC if you have any concerns about it running slow, you can see what its up to at that very moment. See which program is demanding the most resources and kill whatever it is that is robbing you of that power you need to DO WORK.
